The Cognitive Functions – Up Close and Personal
The problem with being an expert in anything is that it’s hard to remember what it was like to know very little about the subject we now love.
Type practitioners, especially the enthusiasts, have a great capacity to describe our most loved and effective tool using relatively ineffective language. Of course, we don’t aim to confuse but somehow we manage it. It’s a trap we often fall into and as a typical Type devotee I can say that I am guilty as charged!
This fault of mine got me thinking. How can I describe the cognitive functions in a way that hits home first time, is understood by my audience and creates the ‘aha’ moments we all desire? I discovered the key is to use the dual coding of image and language, create pictures and stories and let clients actually experience the functions to really know what I am talking about.
This webinar will explain my ideas thus far, demonstrate the images and activities I use and encourage you to develop your own personal flavour with them to create a unique approach. We will also explore effective and ineffective use of each of the functions and how coaching can be transformed when this complex area of psychology is clarified.
